A significant refit (2002–2004) at a Nautor specialist yard in Finland included: complete rig overhaul, deck layout optimized for short-handed sailing, new electronics, central heating installation, engine overhaul and keel modification (lead bulb, reduced draft)

The yacht has been professionally maintained with ongoing upgrades. Current works (2026) include teak deck being removed and converted to original Awlgrip finish and the engine cooling system replacement. These upgrades will improve both appearance and long-term durability. These works are however foreseen after the 2026 season!

Designed by German Frers, the Swan 46 is known for being fast and responsive, particularly in lighter winds. Further she is exceptionally seaworthy, with classic Swan construction and comfortable and predictable offshore. The taller mast further enhances performance in light Mediterranean conditions, making her both enjoyable and capable.

The yacht features a highly practical cockpit designed for ease of handling and comfort underway or at anchor. Electric winches and lines led aft for easy handling. What is truly needed now (but not possible at the yard where the boat is located before this summer) is removal of the teakdek (it is a glued deck, not screwed!) and probably paint the deck with nonskid paint. Some teak slats are coming loose, so dangerous for the feet now.  Non-skid is aimed at improving long-term durability and reducing future ownership costs.
